How to turn on instant replies for your Facebook business page

More than 1.3 billion people use Facebook Messenger each month and many of them use it to communicate with businesses. As a busy skilled trades business owner, you don’t have the free time to respond to customer queries on Messenger all the time! But you still need to make sure that your customer feels heard and has received some confirmation that you’ve received their message. That is why it’s important that you use Facebook’s instant messaging feature. It’s good customer service and it will also help you achieve the “Very Responsive” badge on your Facebook page. So, let’s get started!

To turn on instant replies:

STEP 1 – Log in to business manager

STEP 2 – Click on INBOX > AUTOMATED RESPONSES > GREET CUSTOMERS > INSTANT REPLY

STEP 3 – Click on the edit button

STEP 4 – Customize the instant reply and Save it. Make sure the response sounds authentic and non-robotic.

Tip: Use “Add Personalisation” to personalize your message. You can add the customer’s first name, last name, your business email etc.

For example: Hi {first name - personalisation}, Thank you for contacting us. We’re sorry to have just missed you (we’re probably busy saving the world from wiring faults). But, we try to respond to all messages within 24 hours. Just leave us a message here and we’ll get back to you soon. Thanks!

P.S. If you have an emergency, call us directly on {your phone – personalisation}

STEP 5 – Ensure that the reply is “Turned On” 

That’s it!

 

You can also use automated responses to respond to

·       common questions (like contact information, and location) or

·       feedback (thank a user for recommending your page or ask a user why they wouldn’t recommend you).
