Jake Gibson, co-founder and CEO, comes from a family of skilled trades entrepreneurs. He has seen first-hand how hard it is to successfully operate a skilled trades business while still trying to balance family and social time. Jake is a licensed Red Seal HVAC journeyman who aspired to start his own business after becoming licensed, but he decided to gain some business management experience first. During this time, and because of his entrepreneurial spirit, he realized that he could create a better way for skilled tradespeople to run their businesses. Jake and his co-founder Ben, along with the rest of the team at Phyxter believe that the right combination of innovative technological features will provide the solution to the challenging problem of balancing business ownership, family, friends, and fun.
For skilled tradespeople wanting to save time and money when buying tools and parts, Phyxter is a mobile app that instantly connects them to multiple nearby parts wholesalers to send quote requests and make the most profitable purchase. They’ll save time. They’ll save money. They’ll collect reward points!
To apply advanced technology to the life of the general public, by establishing a place of work where all employees can feel the joy of technological innovation, be aware of their mission to society, and work to their hearts' content.
To enable maximum productivity by providing dynamic proximity based communications which facilitate and incentivize parts purchasing - so people can either spend more time utilizing their billable skills or maximize their personal time.
After almost two years of research and product development Phyxter incorporated in May of 2017. Jake and Ben have been working full-time on Phyxter since, and after receiving strong financial support from friends, family, and the Ontario government they have grown to six full-time team members and a strong board of advisers. Phyxter is now enrolled in two incubator/accelerator programs (AC JumpStart & Mars Start), they have partnered with multiple nationally recognized small business service providers, industry associations, and are planning a soft launch in the Greater Toronto Area on November 1st 2018.
